

This site is operated by Cherokee Gadugi of Tarrant County as a chartered satellite, non-profit, non-political organization of the Cherokee Nation. Its mission is dedicated to providing history, culture, heritage, tradition, language, and fellowship to our members who reside outside the Cherokee Nation boundaries.

At the Oklahoma Association's Fall Weave A Thon, representing our organization, Leta Goodman Jones, President Cherokee Gadugi (center,) presents a donation check - Accepting for the Oklahoma Basketweavers, President Rose Drake (Leta's right) acknowledged the significant impact to their program our generosity provides. The Cherokee Gadugi Tarrant County donation allows the Oklahoma Native American Basketweavers Association to continue to teach tribal weaving relative to their members tribes! A portion of our donation will enable their November One Day Weave's supplies and venue.

Theme: Though not our land, the land is entrusted to us by our elders to honor their legacy and safeguard it for posterity. We must be intimately acquainted with the law. Our land is the DNA of our people. Invited experts will provide tribal citizens with the tools and knowledge to understand how generational changes influence land management and treaty rights within the federal system.
